This gorgeous variety of amaranth yields reddish purple or magenta plumes of flowers.
This grain is a gluten free food & a great alternative to make into flour. Amaranth has more protein than other grains, containing lysine – an amino acid that’s either missing or negligible in most grains. It is also high in calcium. Assisting with lowering cholesterol & the risk of cardiovascular disease, amaranth has also been shown to help reduce hair loss & greying.
Not only will it revamp your diet, it will revamp your garden with fabulous, colorful foliage too.
Depending upon location & soil, these plants can grow in excess of 7 feet tall. This year, we have some plants towering our coach lights!
