The Purple Zebra Hollyhock is a lovely variety of hollyhock that is much smaller than the common hollyhocks we are all used to.

Tiny, but mighty, as they bloom in abundance on multiple stalks from the plant, this variety of hollyhock is an early bloomer in the summer, but will continue to bloom throughout the entire season.

Purple zebra hollyhocks will reseed themselves, even in hardiness zones that get snow in the winter, rendering themselves perennial.

The flowers, leaves, roots & seed pods/buttons can be eaten, when it comes to hollyhocks, and they are quite tasty. Hollyhocks are a part of the mallow family of plants, and have the same medicinal qualities. Therefore, the mallow can be substituted with hollyhocks for health benefits.

A mild, vegetal flavor is what you’ll get when using the flowers, and they’re wonderful to stuff or sprinkle on salads, for an exotic splash of color & fun!

Hollyhocks can be used fresh or dried, and work well floated in a beverage or used in herbal tea mixtures.
